Job Summary

Camillo Companies is actively seeking an experienced VP of Architecture to lead our dynamic design team. This role will report directly to the CEO and as the VP of Architecture, you will spearhead architectural projects, ensuring home designs are functional, economically efficient, and aesthetically pleasing for Legend Homes and for SimplyHome. For more than 30 years, we have developed vibrant communities and built innovative homes with a commitment to affordability, simplicity and an exceptional customer experience. Your oversight will ensure projects adhere to industry standards, budgetary constraints, and client requirements, while mentoring a team of architectural design staff and/or working with external design vendors. This will require collaborating across all departments and functions to meet evolving standards, customer needs and organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the architectural design process from concept to completion for multiple residential projects for retail sales and for the buildโ€‘toโ€‘rent portfolio of homes.
  • Create open, collaborative and professional relationships by adopting a strong customerโ€‘focused approach with all clients.
  • Managing the design process for updating and refining existing plans to ensure compliance with evolving building standards and to continue to meet customer needs.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure project feasibility.
  • Prepare bidding proposals, review construction schedules, and ensures that timelines meet the scheduled completion milestones.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop projectโ€‘design requirements and solutions.
  • Recommend personnel and resource requirements necessary to complete construction.
  • Building and maintain a technically strong, creative, and productive team by effectively managing and mentoring the design staff.
  • Responsible for departmental budgeting, planning, and procedural change.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on architectural trends and technologies.

  • Excellent project management and time management skills, with detailโ€‘orientation and ability to multiโ€‘task and prioritize work.
  • Strong decisionโ€‘making and problemโ€‘solving skills, along with advanced conflict resolution skills.

Education and Experience
  • A bachelorโ€™s or masterโ€™s degree in architecture or a closely related field is required.
  • Professional Architect (PA) license required.
  • Minimum of 7 or more years of experience in the Homebuilding industry in architecture and project management.
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring architectural teams.
  • Inโ€‘depth current knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and industry standards.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Familiarity with other design programs is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, problemโ€‘solving, and decisionโ€‘making skills.
