Omnia Healthcare Group is seeking a Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety to join their team! The Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel, provides leadership of and is accountable for the quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) programs in accordance with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. This position develops, oversees, and analyzes the QAPI programs to ensure facilities provide resident-centered, high quality, safe, effective, efficient, timely, and equitable care. The Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety provides trends, analysis, and advice to other department heads to develop organizational strategic goals for quality and improvement and mitigation of risk. This position works with all members of leadership to achieve optimal resident care.

Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees the development and the implementation of the organization’s quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and the organization’s strategy.  

  • Develops, monitors, trends, and analyzes clinical quality targets and metrics, and designs plans to address gaps using research-based, industry-accepted quality improvement methods and resources.  

  • Reports on trends and analyses of performance on clinical quality and patient safety metrics.  

  • Works with other department leaders to create a culture of quality improvement and safety.  

  • Develops short- and long-term strategic plans regarding quality improvement, root cause analysis, and patient safety. Ensures strategies align with patient needs, regulatory requirements, and industry-accepted best practices. Effectively supports the achievement of the organization's objectives and mission.  

  • Leverages and evaluates health care technology and/or clinical information management systems to optimize quality improvement and patient care.  

  • Advises the clinical and operations teams on establishing key performance indicators and clinical goals to improve quality and manage risk.  

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with other executives, department heads, clinical team members, and staff to ensure effective, proactive, and ongoing communication.   

  • Participates in the development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures to accomplish the organization’s quality and risk management initiatives.   

  • Advises on, and participates in, Joint Commission, state, and any other survey responses.  

  • Maintains current knowledge of all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards as they relate to long-term care QAPI and survey requirements.  

  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business. 

  • All other duties as assigned. 

Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety Skills and Abilities: 

  • Exceptional leadership ability, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making skills  

  • Strong Microsoft office skills and proficiency in using healthcare management software 

  • Strong strategic and analytical orientation with the ability to translate strategy and vision into tangible goals and programs 

  • Quality Assessment & Performance Improvement (QAPI): Lead quality improvement initiatives, monitor clinical outcomes, and drive continuous performance improvement.  

  • Patient Safety & Risk Management: Oversee patient safety programs, conduct root cause analyses, and ensure regulatory compliance.  

  • Executive Leadership & Strategic Planning: Develop strategic quality initiatives, lead cross-functional teams, and align organizational goals with quality outcomes. 

Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety Education and Experience: 

  • Preference given to those with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing (BSN/MSN), master’s degree in social work (MSW), or registered nurse (RN) or social work license (LCSW) in a state where at least one facility is located  

  • Preference given to those with master’s degree in a healthcare-related field or enterprise risk management 

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience working in the healthcare industry, with preference given to those with experience in long-term care   

  • Previous experience in healthcare QAPI or risk management, with preference given to those who have 4 years progressively responsible leadership experience  

  • Knowledge of the long-term care industry with knowledge of state and federal regulations and regulatory compliance   

  • Experience in change management, root cause analyses, clinical policy and procedure development, and quality improvement methods  

  • Proven track record of effectively leading a performance- and outcomes-based program and staff   

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to travel to skilled nursing facilities. 

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required. 

  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required. 

  • Meet all health requirements as needed.
