The Vice President of Operations is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, administration, and financial performance. Reporting directly to the President, the VP of Operations ensures operational excellence across transportation, warehouse, and production teams, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   
  • Operational Leadership: 
    • Lead, manage, and optimize operational activities across all locations.
    • Oversee the transportation and warehouse teams, ensuring operational goals are met or exceeded. 
    • Develop and enforce operational policies, procedures, and best practices that enhance efficiency and consistency. 
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and safety requirements. 
  • Performance and Financial Management: 
    • Develop, monitor, and report on operational KPIs across the organization. 
    • Partner with the CFO and Finance team to develop operational budgets, control costs, and maximize profitability. 
    • Analyze operational performance trends and implement corrective actions as needed to meet financial targets. 
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: 
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational activities with overall strategic objectives. 
    • Drive initiatives that improve service delivery, operational processes, and client satisfaction. 
    • Identify and implement opportunities for operational innovation and efficiency. 
  • Team Leadership and Development: 
    • Directly manage operational leaders and support their teams. 
    • Develop and retain top operational talent, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning. 
    • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and ensure open communication across all levels of the operations team. 
    • Develop communication processes to ensure alignment between teams, promote cross-location collaboration, and support effective decision-making.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
