Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Finance Manager - Expense Management & Analysis - Vice President to join our team. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to providing financial and analytical support for Consumer & Community Banking Operations. Serving as a strategic partner to senior leaders, the team supports forecasting, planning, and performance management by providing actionable insights into key business metrics, including expenses, volumes, and unit costs. This role is responsible for leading the monthly forecast cycle, coordinating management reporting, and forwarding the annual and mid-year budgeting processes. 
As an Operations Finance Manager - Expense Management & Analysis - Vice President in Consumer & Community Banking, you will partner with key business stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities and to develop budgets and forecasts for both direct and indirect expenses across Customer Servicing functions within Consumer & Community Banking. The role is responsible for reviewing and analyzing expense transactions and providing clear, actionable recommendations. Leveraging advanced problem-solving, financial analysis, reporting, and relationship-management skills, the Finance Manager delivers end-to-end financial support for Customer Service, Card Lending Operations, and Business Banking Operations.

Job responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted finance advisor to senior leaders and Managing Directors, providing day-to-day guidance on expense management and strategic decision support.
  • Analyze financial performance by evaluating variances, trends, risks, and opportunities versus budget, forecast, and targets; identify key drivers and sensitivities.
  • Create and deliver executive-ready reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual), translating results into clear insights, implications, and recommended actions.
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support for strategic initiatives, partnering across Finance, Technology, and Operations to align stakeholders and forward execution.
  • Partner with Product CFO teams to manage Operations Product headcount and support initiatives impacting Customer Servicing.
  • Exercise advanced business judgment to resolve financial issues, challenge assumptions, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and expense outcomes.
    Coach and mentor associates, reinforcing high standards, accountability, and ongoing professional development across the finance team.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in banking and/or financial services.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and translate analysis into actionable insights.
  • High attention to detail and a solution-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and organizational skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint/PitchPro.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver multiple, frequently shifting deliverables under tight timelines.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, including the ability to partner across multiple layers of leadership and influence outcomes with professionalism and integrity.
  • Demonstrated change leadership, including the confidence to challenge the status quo and foster improvements.
  • Executive-ready storytelling skills, including experience creating and presenting materials for senior audiences and tailoring messages to diverse stakeholders.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and scenario analysis, with the ability to think creatively and evaluate options to support decision-making.
    Advanced documentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts and maintain clear, durable records.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Essbase experience is a plus.
