Job description

VP of Strategy and Operations

Wilmington, DE or Remote-U.S.

Monday to Friday

CSC Corptax delivers trusted enterprise tax solutions for U.S. and global compliance, provision and planning. Our single tax system centralizes tax data and workflows, combining AI-informed automation and analytics for accuracy, control, and insight that supports business strategy.

We are looking for a VP-level strategic operator to serve as a close thought partner to the President. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution: helping shape the agenda, translating direction into clear priorities, and driving follow-through across the leadership team and the broader organization. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated success with software to SaaS transformational projects.

You will build and run the operating rhythm that keeps the business aligned-annual and quarterly planning, metrics/OKRs, portfolio visibility, and decision forums that surface trade-offs early. You will also partner with functional leaders to improve how we operate, incorporate AI, automation, and analytics to create leverage across the operating model.

You will be in the work-driving outcomes, unblocking teams, creating clarity, and ensuring the President's top priorities move from intent to execution.

Some of the things you will be doing:

  • President Partnership & Leadership Cadence: Serve as a trusted thought partner to the President. Shape agendas for key leadership forums, drive preparation and decision quality, document decisions, and ensure follow-through on commitments.
  • Enterprise Planning & Prioritization: Lead annual and quarterly planning in partnership with functional leaders. Translate strategy into a focused set of priorities, success metrics (OKRs/KPIs), and clear owners, drive alignment on sequencing, capacity, and trade-offs.
  • Operating Rhythm & Portfolio Governance: Establish and run the operating rhythm that keeps strategic initiatives on track-portfolio reviews, dashboards, risk/issue escalation, and accountability mechanisms that ensure progress on what matters most.
  • Cross-Functional Priority Delivery: Lead high-impact initiatives that do not have a natural home. Stand up plans, roles, and milestones; unblock teams; and drive initiatives to measurable outcomes.
  • AI, Automation & Operating Model Transformation: Identify friction and inefficiency across the business and drive improvements using AI, automation, analytics, and process redesign. Partner with Product/Engineering and the AI team to identify use cases, drive adoption, and measure impact.
  • Growth & Special Projects: Support evaluation of organic and inorganic growth opportunities (e.g., partnerships, product adjacencies, acquisitions). Build business cases with Finance, support diligence as needed and help plan integration and execution.
  • Matrix Leadership: Drive outcomes through influence across Finance, HR, Engineering, Product, Sales, and Operations. Build trusted relationships, clarify ownership, and hold the line on priorities, timelines, and results.

How you operate:

  • You gather enough information to understand the trade-offs, then decide and move forward with speed and judgment
  • You create momentum: closing loops, driving clarity, and keeping work moving
  • You are comfortable making directional calls in ambiguous situations and adjusting as you go

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and 10-15 years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success with owning outcomes in a SaaS or software environment, setting a path and delivering measurable results.
  • Experience in accounting, fintech, ERP, or GRC software is highly valued. You understand complex products, regulated environments, and the customers who buy them.
  • Full understanding of AI automation fluency: ability to translate possibilities into real workflows, adoption plans, and measurable impact.
  • Financial acumen: You are comfortable with business cases, unit economics, and investment trade-offs. You can partner effectively with Finance without needing translation.
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations: You diagnose root causes, frame options, drive decisions, and build practical plans teams can execute.
  • Brings clarity to ambiguity: Diagnoses issues, frames options, and drives decisions that translate into execution.

  • Openness to 50% travel to Wilmington, DE headquarters

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus.

  • Strategy consulting experience is a plus when combined with meaningful operating experience and a demonstrated track record of owning and delivering outcomes.

  • We also value candidates who have built, scaled, or run functions where they were accountable for deciding what to prioritize, what to build, and delivering the results.

  • Experience leading or supporting M&A transactions and post-merger integration.
  • Background in FP&A, corporate development, business operations, or a Chief of Staff-style role
