Job description

About Flourish
Flourish is building the future of youth mental healthcare.
We provide comprehensive, team-based care for children, adolescents, and young adults with serious mental health conditions. Every patient is supported by an integrated care team consisting of a child psychiatrist, a therapist, a patient guide, and a family guide. By combining exceptional clinicians with thoughtfully designed technology, we're making high-quality specialty mental healthcare more accessible, more effective, and more scalable.
We're growing quickly and are looking for exceptional leaders who care deeply about building organizations that improve lives.
About the Role
We're looking for a VP of Operations to build the operating systems that allow Flourish to scale while preserving the culture, quality, and humanity that define our care.
As we grow nationally, you'll ensure that every operational function-from recruiting and onboarding to licensing, compliance, and credentialing-works seamlessly to enable our clinical teams to focus on delivering exceptional care. You'll partner closely with leaders across the company to identify bottlenecks before they emerge, strengthen our operating model, and continuously improve how Flourish works.
This is fundamentally a leadership role. You'll inherit and develop strong functional leaders, helping them grow into exceptional executives while ensuring their organizations scale alongside the company.
People Operations
You'll lead our People Operations function through a high-performing Director of People Operations, investing deeply in their development while helping them build an exceptional team and employee experience. Together, you'll ensure we can recruit outstanding clinicians and care team members through warm, proactive talent pipelines, onboard them quickly and thoughtfully, develop great managers, foster a culture where people do their best work, and build the people systems that support Flourish as we continue to grow.
Clinical Operations
You'll lead our Clinical Operations function, partnering closely with clinical leadership to ensure our care teams have the operational infrastructure they need to deliver exceptional care. This team owns the operational rhythms of clinical practice, including practice management, clinician onboarding, operational support for carepods, and the systems and metrics that help our clinical teams perform at a high level. You'll coach and develop the leader of this function while continuously improving how clinical operations support our growing organization.
Licensing, Compliance & Credentialing
You'll lead our Licensing, Compliance & Credentialing function as a strong Associate Director of Licensing & Compliance, helping them continue to grow as a leader while expanding the organization's capabilities. This team ensures Flourish can safely and efficiently operate across the country by overseeing clinician and organizational licensing, regulatory compliance in every state where we operate, and credentialing with health plans. Under your leadership, these functions will remain proactive, scalable, and will never become constraints on patient care or market expansion.
Success in This Role
Success won't be measured by how many operational tasks are completed-it will be measured by whether Flourish becomes increasingly capable as it grows.
You'll build leaders who build leaders. You'll create systems that become stronger as the company becomes more complex. You'll ensure that our clinicians have an exceptional experience working at Flourish, that our managers feel supported, and that our operational infrastructure enables the delivery of world-class care.
Key measures of success include employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS), time from carepod launch to full utilization, recruiting velocity, onboarding effectiveness, licensing and credentialing timeliness, compliance excellence, and the continued development of the leaders and teams you oversee.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a leader who has successfully scaled complex operations in a fast-growing organization and enjoys building organizations as much as building processes. You're equally comfortable thinking strategically with executives, coaching leaders through difficult management situations, and designing operational systems that will support the next stage of growth.
Experience in healthcare operations is valuable, particularly in multi-state environments involving licensing, compliance, or credentialing, but most important is your ability to build exceptional teams, develop leaders, and create organizations that scale with excellence.
Role Requirements
  • Experience leading operations at a high-growth startup, ideally from Series A through subsequent stages of scale
  • 10+ years of leadership experience with a track record of building and scaling complex operational organizations
  • An exceptional people leader who develops leaders, builds high-performing teams, and creates strong management systems
  • Strong operational judgment, with the ability to identify bottlenecks, simplify complexity, and build systems that scale
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with excellent business intuition and a habit of using metrics to improve organizational performance
  • Comfortable moving between long-term strategy and day-to-day execution in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding communicator who builds trust quickly and influences effectively across functions
  • Strong project and program management skills with exceptional organizational discipline
  • Experience with multi-state healthcare operations, licensing, compliance, or credentialing
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
