Vice President of Operations - Electrical Construction (Mission Critical Focus)

Location: Phoenix, AZ Area

Compensation: base salary + performance bonus + executive incentive plan (total comp potential significantly higher based on company performance and profitability)

Position Overview

A growing electrical construction organization is seeking a Vice President of Operations to join its executive leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing all core operational functions including project management, field operations, procurement, and virtual design & construction (VDC).

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in electrical construction, particularly within mission-critical and data center environments, and will play a key role in scaling operations, improving execution standards, and driving profitability across all projects.

This leader will be responsible for building high-performing teams, improving operational systems, and ensuring consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, and profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop all operational departments including project management, field operations, procurement, and VDC
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing leadership and field execution team with strong accountability standards
  • Oversee full project lifecycle execution from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring schedule adherence, budget control, and quality standards
  • Drive operational excellence across mission-critical data center projects, supporting repeat business and expanded client relationships
  • Ensure all projects meet or exceed safety, quality, and compliance requirements at both company and industry levels
  • Establish and refine operational processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall profitability
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of client satisfaction across all active projects
  • Quickly identify and resolve operational or project-related issues to prevent delays or cost overruns
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, forecasting, and long-term growth initiatives
  • Strengthen vendor and subcontractor relationships to support project success and operational stability
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety throughout the organization
  • Ensure consistent alignment between field execution and corporate objectives

Qualifications
