Aspirus Health in WAUSAU, WI is seeking a VP- SYSTEM NURSING OPERATIONS to join our Nursing Administration team!
The VP, System Nursing Operations is considered the primary executive nursing backup to the Aspirus SVP, Chief Nurse Executive(CNE). Is responsible for implementing the strategic vision, priorities, and day-to-day operations to effectively deliver high quality and effective nursing care that achieves results consistent with the goals of the Aspirus health system. The VP, System Nursing Operations is responsible for nursing quality in partnership with the VP, System Quality and Safety as well as nursing practice and operations that support the overall integration and implementation of a common approach to nursing care delivery, nursing excellence, and patient care across the Aspirus health system.
Participates in the development of short- and long- term strategies, goals, objectives, plans and drives system initiatives and projects for areas of responsibility across the care continuum. Partners with CNE, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), system executives, Business Unit (BU) Chief Nursing Officers (CNO), Providers and other key stakeholders across the care continuum to assess operations effectiveness, identify opportunities for redesign and optimization of human talent, processes, care models, and technology.
The VP, System Nursing Operations is a domain expert in nursing best practice, staffing effectiveness, models, and informatics. Additionally, maintains in-depth knowledge of healthcare topics and emerging trends, patient care practices, technology, and analytics. The VP, System Nursing Operations is a leader who serves as a resource in the evaluation, selection, implementation, and evolution of clinical nursing information systems to enhance the delivery of clinical care while ensuring that they meet organizational, regulatory, and clinical quality and safety standards The VP, System Nursing Operations is considered to be a part of the strategic CNE succession plan.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required in nursing.
  • Master's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business administration required.
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred
  • Certification in nursing leadership desired.
  • Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience with a minimum 5 in an Integrated Healthcare System
  • Minimum of 7 years in role(s) with progressive leadership and scope to include role at system level
  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin, Michigan, or Minnesota required.
  • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position, or scope of services.
