Job description

Pacific Crest Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a hands-on, results-oriented Vice President of Operations to lead operational transformation, improve profitability, and establish a scalable operating foundation for future growth and strategic opportunities.

This is not a traditional maintenance role. The ideal candidate will be a proven operator who has successfully led manufacturing organizations through periods of operational improvement, cost reduction, margin expansion, and organizational change. This individual understands that strong leadership is rooted not only in operational excellence but also in the ability to inspire, coach, and engage others to achieve exceptional results.

Candidates with experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal manufacturing, welded assemblies, engineered products, or related industrial manufacturing environments are strongly preferred.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Operations will be responsible for manufacturing, supply chain, production planning, inventory management, operational KPI’s and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation:

$175,000 - $200,000 yearly


Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

The VP of Operations will ensure efficient workflows to maximize the company’s productivity and performance by managing and leading the departments that follow:

  • Procurement.

  • Warehouse and Materials Control.

  • Production/Manufacturing.

  • Planning.

  • Quality Systems and Quality Control.

  • Facilities and Maintenance.

  • Other non-operations departmental interactions/dependencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, organize, and oversee the daily operations of our company.

  • Monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives.

  • Form relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make critical decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.

  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.

  • Implement approved process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources to cultivate an environment of integrity, trust, inclusivity, and productivity.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee leadership.

  • Ability to optimize structures and roles for faster adaptation to changing business demands.


Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Collaborate with executive management in the execution of performance goals and long-term operational plans.

  • Analyze processes, collaborate interdepartmentally, and set strategic goals for efficiency and productivity.

  • Work with department managers in the development of budgetary plans.

  • Evaluate current operational processes and performance and suggest solutions for improvement wherever deemed necessary.

  • Build strong professional bonds both internally and externally.

  • Experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal manufacturing, welded assemblies, industrial products, electrical equipment manufacturing, or related engineered-to-order manufacturing environments.

  • Experience improving labor productivity and throughput in fabrication-intensive operations.

  • Experience managing fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and related production processes.

  • Experience in developing budgets and business plans.

  • ESOP company experience.

  • Experience working with ownership groups, boards, private equity, or M&A environments.

  • Multi-site manufacturing experience.

  • Experience preparing operations for growth, integration, or transaction readiness.

  • Six Sigma certification or similar operational excellence training.

  • Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing people in a way that fosters accountability, engagement, and professional growth.

  • Proven ability to sustain a positive, high-performance workplace culture aligned with organizational values.

  • Skilled in managing change while maintaining employee engagement and organizational stability.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 10+ years of Manufacturing leadership experience.

  • Previous experience as VP Operations, VP Manufacturing, General Manager, COO, or similar.

  • Demonstrated success improving profitability in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience leading operational turnaround or performance improvement initiatives.

  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing.

  • Proven track record achieving measurable EBITDA and cost improvement objectives.

  • Experience managing supply chain, production, inventory, and quality functions.

  • Strong Analytical and financial acumen.
