Goldman Sachs operates at the fulcrum of one of the most important structural trends in finance: the convergence of public and private markets. We combine the #1 global advisory franchise, a leading origination business, and an investing platform that deploys capital across liquid and alternative asset classes.

Our Capital Solutions Group is a comprehensive suite of our financing, origination, structuring, and risk management solutions. The depth and breadth of our relationships, enriched by the velocity of our deal flow, provide clients unique insights to maximize value and unlock opportunity.

Our integrated structure is built to provide comprehensive, tailored solutions that propel both our issuing and investing clients forward.

YOUR IMPACT

The Corporate Derivatives desk is part of the Capital Solutions Group within Investment Banking and works closely with Global Markets and Classic Investment Banking to educate clients and develop innovative solutions tailored to their specific needs.

As a Vice President on the Corporate Derivatives desk, you will play a pivotal leadership role in originating, structuring, and executing interest rate and foreign exchange (FX) risk management solutions for public and private corporate clients. You will lead client relationships, drive transaction execution, and mentor junior professionals.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL Role Responsibilities
  • Client Coverage & Origination: Lead the origination and execution of interest rate (fixed/float) and FX hedging (debt currency mix) solutions for public and private corporations across all credit ratings.
  • Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to corporate clients, utilizing deep expertise in corporate finance, derivatives, and capital markets to structure and execute complex hedges (including deal-contingent structures).
  • Deal Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end transaction lifecycle, from initial client pitch and quantitative modeling to execution, pricing, and post-trade management.
  • Cross-Divisional Collaboration: Partner closely with senior leaders across Classic Investment Banking, Investment Grade (IG) and High Yield (HY) Debt Capital Markets, Trading, Credit, and CVA desks to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Portfolio Management: Proactively propose and execute innovative strategies to optimize and manage clients' existing hedge portfolios.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, mentor, and develop Analysts and Associates on the desk, ensuring high-quality output across financial models, derivative pricing, and marketing materials.
  • Business Development: Drive the expansion of the Goldman Sachs derivatives platform by prospecting, onboarding, and deepening relationships with new corporate clients.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: Strong academic record with a Bachelor's or advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or quantitative master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in corporate derivatives, capital markets, or investment banking, with a proven track record of executing interest rate and FX risk management transactions.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding of derivative pricing models, corporate finance theory, and financial statement analysis.
  • Leadership & Execution: Demonstrated ability to lead deal teams, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Communication & Relationship Management: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex financial concepts to C-suite executives and senior corporate treasury teams.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with a track record of working effectively across multi-disciplinary internal teams.

Drive & Integrity: Results-oriented work ethic characterized by high standards of professional responsibility, enthusiasm, and pride in work.
