Job description

Vice President Global Logistics

  • Title: Vice President Global Logistics
  • Location: Columbus OH
  • Compensation: $270,000 to $320,000 + Bonus + LTIP + Exciting Benefits

A fast-growing, Multi-Billion-Dollar manufacturing business is looking to hire a new world-class VP Global Logistics, 2 levels down from the CEO, to help lead Transformational change, Centralization, and Scale-up of the Logistics & Supply Chain programs across the NA, EMEA, and APAC regions. With an exceptional platform for career growth, opportunity to "Build" + "Scale" a legacy operation, this is very much a business and job opportunity that one will look back on and say "Right Place, Right Time".

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Network Redesign & Distribution Footprint Optimization

    • Execute an Enterprise-Wide Network Overhaul: Conduct a deep diagnostic of the current global logistics footprint and lead decisive actions to streamline, reposition, and right-size warehouses, cross-docks, and fulfillment points to remove duplication and materially lower endtoend supply chain costs.
    • Orchestrate EndtoEnd Material Flow: Integrate previously disconnected regional logistics movements into a single, harmonized global flow that stabilizes lead times and unlocks working capital by reducing excess buffer stock.
    • Standardize the Global Operating Backbone: Replace fragmented regional practices with a unified operating framework, common processes, shared metrics, aligned safety standards, and consistent service expectations worldwide.
    • Engineer for Future Growth: Design a scalable, durable network that can absorb 2-3 volume increases while keeping cost growth disproportionately low, ensuring longterm operational leverage.

  • Logistics Recovery & Operational Excellence

    • Fix Root Causes, Not Symptoms: Tackle persistent service breakdowns and structural cost inefficiencies with durable system changes rather than temporary workarounds.
    • Build True Cost Visibility: Develop detailed, multi-dimensional insight into logistics costs across geographies, products, and customers, enabling informed margin decisions instead of static budget management.
    • Make Service Reliability NonNegotiable: Establish OTIF performance as a baseline expectation, delivering the predictability and execution discipline required by the company's mission-critical customer base.

  • Digital Enablement & Advanced Analytics

    • Modernize the Technology Core: Transition away from manual, spreadsheet-driven execution toward an integrated digital ecosystem anchored by bestinclass TMS, WMS, and centralized control tower capabilities.
    • Deploy Smart Automation: Identify and implement targeted, highreturn automation initiatives across warehousing, transportation planning, and network optimization using AI and advanced algorithms.
    • Shift to Predictive Operations: Equip the organization with modeling, simulation, and scenario tools that enable proactive decisionmaking rather than reactive problem solving.

  • Global Procurement, Trade, and Ecosystem Strategy

    • Simplify and Strengthen the Partner Landscape: Reduce complexity across the carrier and 3PL ecosystem while negotiating global, enterprise-level agreements that maximize scale advantages and strategic alignment.
    • Optimize Cross-Border Execution: Redesign international trade flows and customs strategies to increase velocity, reduce friction, and improve resiliency across key global corridors.
    • Clarify Ownership Decisions: Define a clear insource-versus-outsource philosophy to balance control, flexibility, and scalability across logistics capabilities.

  • Transformation Leadership & Talent Development

    • Lead a Mindset Shift: Move regional organizations from autonomous, localized decision-making toward a globally integrated network mentality that prioritizes enterprise outcomes.
    • Build a World-Class Logistics Organization: Identify skill gaps, attract elite logistics talent, and actively develop a succession pipeline capable of leading the company's global logistics organization into the future.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

    • 15+ years experience in Global Logistics
    • 7+ years in Industrial Manufacturing
    • Project & Strategic accomplishments around Transformational Change
    • Warehousing & Transportation Leadership experience
    • Strong process improvement & cost saving track record
    • Experience with managing teams of direct reports
    • Bachelor's Degree

Our revolutionary approach allows us to structure each assignment according to the requirements, time scales and budget available. We believe that for too long executive search firms have been too rigid in their approach and have been able to dictate how the search is conducted, leaving the client relatively powerless on the outcome.
Our service allows our clients to have increased control, direction and interaction in the search conducted on their behalf and has resulted in successful, on going relationships as search firm of choice with an ever expanding client group.
