Position Summary

This position requires the individual to take a leadership role in the execution of all aspects of assigned healthcare project management projects. The individual must have a strong understanding of all aspects of the project management process and a strong track record as a project manager. The Vice President must be able to manage projects of greater scope and complexity. This position also manages other service line professionals which may include Senior Project Executives, Project Executives, and Project Specialists. The Vice President and his/her supervised staff will typically be required to work on two or more projects at any given time.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Assisting planners and associates in performing project feasibility analysis.
  • Conducting project visioning sessions with client’s senior management.
  • Leading the A/E qualification, selection and contract negotiations.
  • Leading the qualification, selection and contract negotiations for other team consultant members.
  • Reviewing, negotiating and approving A/E and consultant additional work requests
  • Supervising the programming and planning efforts of the selected architect.
  • Performing site analysis and investigations.
  • Develops, maintains and adheres to detailed development budgets and schedules.
  • Obtaining required project public approvals (CON, Zoning, Annexation, Site Plan Approval, Wetlands, other Processes).
  • Providing design direction and managing the overall design process.
  • Reviewing design development and construction documents to determine adequacy.
  • Leading the GC or CM qualifications, selection and contract negotiations.
  • Evaluating the adequacy of all construction allowances, contingencies and general conditions.
  • Provides construction administration in adherence with the Company’s policies and procedure manuals including the Facility Development Project Manual.
  • Reviewing and negotiating GC or CM change order requests.
  • Monitoring the GC or CM performance for areas of potential risk.
  • Coordinating physician office suite development.
  • Provides project cost control and prepares timely and accurate monthly budget reports and invoicing.
  • Coordinating the selection, procurement, delivery and installation of medical and other equipment, signage and furniture.
  • Preparing monthly reports to clients.
  • Making project overview and status report presentations to clients’ administration, Board and Board Committees.
  • Promotes the services of the Company through thought leadership, speaking engagements, client leadership and/or business development efforts.
  • Collaborates with others within the Company to reach client goals and objectives as well as overall Company success.
  • Embraces the Company’s culture and works collaboratively with others to reach business goals and objectives.
Work Relationships

This position is expected to direct, supervise, hire, train, and mentor professional staff members including Senior Project Executives, Project Executives, and Project Support Specialists, as well as potential subcontractors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The Vice President should have an undergraduate degree in a related discipline preferred, or a minimum of 15 years of progressive healthcare project management experience including managing multiple clients and/or project sites and managing people.
