Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Import/Export Specialist. This position will be located in Rolla, MO.
Summary:
Import/Export Specialists are responsible for documentation, logistics coordination, and compliance checks to organize and oversee shipments domestically and internationally. They prepare shipping documents, coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers, and ensure timely delivery of goods. The position assists in maintaining accurate records, tracking shipments, and resolving logistical issues to facilitate smooth import and export operations. They maintain communication and work cross functionally with teams to ensure that all processes and procedures adhere to the organization's standards and regulations. The use quoting and best-way analysis to complete work.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in conducting periodic audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to import/export laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with customs authorities, regulatory agencies, and trade associations to obtain permits, licenses, and certifications as required.
  • Monitor changes in import/export laws and regulations, assess potential impacts on business operations, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Analyze shipping data, identify trends, and propose strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and technology solutions to streamline import/export operations.
  • Train and support new and lower-level team members regarding shipping issues and maintaining documentation including on-time shipping and tracking communication.
  • Manage relationships with customs authorities, government agencies, and industry associations to address compliance issues and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term import/export strategies, assess market opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Education & Credentials:
  • Associate's degree in relevant field or
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
