About Morrison Child and Family Services

We are a nationally recognized leader in Behavioral Health Care for Children and Families.

Founded in 1947 by Dr. Carl Morrison, one of Oregon’s first child psychiatrists and an early advocate for children’s mental health, Morrison has been at the forefront of care for over 75 years. Over the decades, we have grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the communities we serve across Oregon and beyond. Morrison Child and Family Services (Morrison) is a nationally recognized leader in behavioral health care, providing high-quality, trauma-informed programs and services to children and families.

Morrison’s mission is “helping kids be kids and supporting families when they need us most.”

Today, Morrison operates with an annual operating budget of approximately $40 million, as a team of over 425 people, operating 9 distinct programs and serving 8000 children and families per year.

We are a Joint Commission and Sanctuary accredited non‑profit organization that provides a comprehensive array of services to children, adolescents, and their families. As an agency, Morrison, its team members, and clients commit to the following values of trauma-informed care:

  • Nonviolence-being safe and doing the right thing
  • Emotional Intelligence-managing our feelings so we don’t hurt ourselves or others
  • Social Learning-respecting and sharing ideas of our teams
  • Democracy-shared decision making whenever possible
  • Open Communication-saying what we mean and not being mean when we say it
  • Social Responsibility-everyone makes a contribution to the organizational culture
  • Growth and Change-creating hope for our clients and ourselves
Job Summary

The Vice President of Development is responsible for leading Morrison Child and Family Services’ (Morrison) Development, Marketing, and Communications. This role provides an exciting opportunity to build upon our well‑established fundraising efforts as we grow and expand our organization.

This is hands‑on fundraising, directly supporting the success of a $40m organization as we drive towards serving 10,000 children and families per year. The VP leads fundraising strategy development, annual planning, and execution through all fundraising channels as well as marketing, communication, and strengthening our brand in Oregon, and nationally as we look to expand our impact. More specifically, the VP serves as Morrison’s primary ambassador to the philanthropic community, managing a high‑impact donor portfolio, making direct asks, closes gifts, hosting events and building the infrastructure for sustained fundraising success. The VP is also a key public relations contact for the organization and an outwardly visible executive. This is an incredible opportunity to make a difference in our community, throughout Oregon, and beyond.
