Job description

About the Job

zerohash is looking for a VP/SVP of Business Operations to bring rigor, speed, and cross‑functional coordination to how the company makes decisions and scales. We’re looking for a senior leader to build, lead, and scale this function from the ground up.

This is a high‑visibility, cross‑functional leadership role reporting into executive leadership. You will own five connected pillars — business intelligence, AI operational rollout, procurement, new product/market analysis, and organizational design & operating efficiency — and be responsible for turning each into a durable, well‑run sub‑department rather than a one‑off project. You’ll work closely with Finance, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams, and will regularly present findings and recommendations to the executive team.

Responsibilities

Business Intelligence

  • Build the company’s core BI function: unified reporting, KPI frameworks, and dashboards that give executives and the board a real‑time, trustworthy view of the business.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, and Product to define the metrics that matter and ensure a single source of truth across systems.
  • Turn data into decisions — proactively surface trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership, not just retrospective reporting.

AI Operational Rollout

  • Own the enterprise‑wide roadmap for adopting new AI tools and workflows across internal operations — from evaluation and pilots to change management and adoption.
  • Identify high‑value use cases across teams (support, compliance, engineering, ops) and build the business case, sequencing, and governance for rollout.
  • Establish guardrails in partnership with Compliance, Security, and Legal so AI adoption is fast but responsible.

Procurement

  • Build a formal procurement function: vendor onboarding, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, spend management, and approval workflows.
  • Drive cost discipline and vendor consolidation across software, infrastructure, and professional services without slowing teams down.
  • Partner with Legal and Finance on contract terms, renewals, and vendor risk management.

New Product & Market Analysis

  • Lead market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM), competitive analysis, and opportunity assessment for new products, verticals, and geographies.
  • Build the analytical backbone for strategic decisions — pricing, market entry, and build‑vs‑partner‑vs‑buy recommendations.
  • Identify organic growth opportunities within the existing partner and client base — e.g., cross‑sell/upsell potential across current product lines, under‑penetrated verticals or geographies, and expansion of existing partner relationships into new use cases.
  • Partner with Product and Commercial leadership to translate market analysis into roadmap and go‑to‑market input.

Organizational Design and Operating Efficiency

  • Provide headcount planning support, org structure recommendations, and org health metrics to help leadership scale the company efficiently.
  • Lead process design and re‑engineering for scaling operational functions — e.g., support, onboarding, and operations — as volume and complexity grow.
Requirements
  • 12‑15+ years of progressive experience in business operations, strategy, corporate development, or a related leadership role.
  • 5‑8+ years of that experience in FinTech; direct experience in crypto, digital assets, payments, or banking / brokerage infrastructure is a strong plus.
  • A track record of building functions from scratch — you’ve stood up teams and processes, not just operated within them.
  • Sharp analytical skills paired with genuine comfort in ambiguity; equally credible presenting to a board and rolling up your sleeves on a spreadsheet.
  • Experience driving AI or major technology adoption within an operating business, ideally at scale.
  • Strong track record in vendor negotiation and procurement strategy.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, with experience presenting to C‑suite and board‑level audiences.
  • Based in the United States; ability to travel to team hubs.
Benefits
  • Healthcare Insurance: zerohash covers roughly 100% of employee premiums as well as a portion of spouse/children (U.S. only)
  • Vision & Dental Insurance (U.S. only)
  • Chance to earn equity
  • Maternity & Paternity leave (after 6 months)
  • WeWork All Access Membership
  • WFH Yearly Stipend
  • L&D Yearly Stipend (after 6 months)
