Summary

Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President Sales, the Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing key customer accounts, driving revenue growth, achieving performance targets, and promoting Kodiak's full suite of products and services. This role requires a proactive professional who can navigate complex organizational structures, build strong relationships with decision-makers, and execute strategic plans to increase market share. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of gas compression equipment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to align internal resources to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts, fostering long-term relationships.
  • Navigate complex organizational structures and build relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Provide routine reports on strategic goals, milestones, and customer's total available market.
  • Promote all Kodiak product lines to increase market share through direct selling and collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Communicate Kodiak's value proposition and educate customers on the value Kodiak provides in the industry.
  • Maintain an evergreen customer organizational chart highlighting key relationships, decision makers, and influencers.
  • Collaborate with Regional Vice President to build and execute business plans that align with Kodiak's growth strategy, achieve budgeted revenue and financial KPIs set by Commercial Leadership team.
  • Validate customer RFQs and provide value added solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, cost estimates, performance models, and manage internal resources required to respond to customer RFQs.
  • Cultivate relationships with new customers and pursue growth opportunities outside Kodiak's current footprint.
  • Manage onboarding of new customers and COOs. Initiate and follow through on all MSA negotiations and complete all required approvals.
  • Support Operations and align internal resources to ensure successful execution of sold jobs and escalate issues to support teams for timely resolution.
  • Track customer equipment utilization and lead optimization initiatives based on current and forecasted needs.
  • Coordinate field evaluations, manage new build equipment, and make-ready processes from kickoff to RTS.
  • Oversee contract logistics and execution, monitor aging reports, and resolve collections issues.
  • Track project status and update CRM with real-time information on releases, moves, and sets forecasting all activities in advance.
  • Maintain M2M units at or below KPIs set by Commercial Leadership.
  • Stay informed on emerging products, technologies, and industry developments, reporting insights to leadership.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with clean driving record and have reliable transportation
  • Pass the required physical examination, including drug and alcohol screening (scheduled and random)

Work Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in gas compression services or related equipment.
  • Proven ability to manage large accounts and negotiate complex contracts.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales forecasting.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong integrity and ethical decision-making.
  • Thorough understanding of gas compression equipment, applications, and deployment in upstream and midstream markets.
  • Ability to speak competently about compression equipment from application placement to repairs.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and operational constraints.
  • Ability to translate technical features into customer value.
  • Clear, persuasive, and confident communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong presentation skills and basic financial literacy.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and standard computer applications.

Physical Demands

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment. Some periods will be spent in a field operations setting. Some work (less than 10%) requires frequent bending, moving, and lifting.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components.
  • Up to 75% travel required.
