Position Objective

The Vice President, Finance serves as a key financial professional responsible to lead a proactive stance to manage ATOMIC’s finance and accounting. Lead the finance team through complex accounting matters, tax compliance, financial reporting, audit coordination, and risk management. The position supports organizational leadership by providing accurate financial information, technical guidance, and strategic insights that promote sound financial stewardship and informed business decisions.

    4. The dynamic nature of the live events industry requires flexibility to work overtime, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, as dictated by project schedules and client needs.
  2. Lead and oversee all financial activities, including planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management.
  3. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and tax requirements, appropriate to a privately held organization 
  4. Manage tax compliance activities, including federal, state, and local tax filings, sales tax reporting, monitoring changes in tax laws, and assessing organizational impacts.
  5. Ensure the integrity and credibility of financial reporting, including the accuracy of forecasts, trends, budgets, and analyses used to inform leadership decisions.
  6. Prepare and submit required financial and regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and adherence to reporting deadlines.
  7. Conduct financial analyses, forecasting support, and special investigations to provide actionable insights for operational and strategic decision-making.
  8. Evaluate internal controls, accounting processes, and organizational risks, recommend improvements to strengthen compliance, efficiency, and financial performance.
  9. Partner with organizational leadership to support financial planning, business strategy, risk assessment, and long-term organizational objectives.
  10. Lead or participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional efforts requiring advanced accounting expertise and analytical problem-solving.
  11. Maintain an effective level of business literacy about ATOMIC and its operations, business challenges, priorities, and opportunities.


Organizational Relationships

The Vice President, Finance reports to the President and collaborates closely with leaders across all profit centers. The Assistant Controller reports to the VP, Finance.


Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of sales tax, business tax compliance, and international transactions.
  • Strong accounting research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to identify risks and recommend process improvements.
  • Strong mentoring and team development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Hands-on, collaborative approach with a willingness to learn business operations and contribute beyond traditional accounting responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting software (QuickBooks or Microsoft Dynamics preferred). 


Credentials and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 7+ years related experience.
  • 5+ years leading teams
  • Preferred Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing
  • International business experience, including exposure to global operations or markets
  • Proven leadership of finance functions within organizations generating $20M+ in annual revenue


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Those necessary for general office work.
  • Typical office environment with occasional travel.
