Job Summary

State Street's Integration Services is seeking a seasoned Vice President - Application Development & Architecture to lead strategic engineering initiatives, enterprise integration platforms, and next-generation application modernization programs. The successful candidate will drive technology strategy, solution architecture, and delivery execution across critical business and technology domains while leading global engineering teams responsible for enterprise-scale platforms.

This role requires a blend of technical leadership, architectural expertise, delivery management, and people leadership. The candidate must possess deep experience building and modernizing distributed applications, driving cloud adoption, establishing engineering standards, and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and support of enterprise-scale applications and integration platforms.

  • Define and execute technology modernization roadmaps aligned to corporate and business objectives.

  • Establish architecture standards, reusable frameworks, engineering best practices, and governance processes.

  • Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures, APIs, event-driven solutions, and modern engineering practices.

Delivery Management

  • Manage end-to-end application delivery across multiple technology workstreams.

  • Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and Engineering teams to deliver strategic initiatives.

  • Oversee agile delivery processes including backlog management, sprint planning, estimation, code reviews, and release governance.

  • Ensure adherence to SDLC, security, risk, compliance, and audit requirements.

Architecture & Engineering Excellence

  • Design scalable, resilient, and highly available multi-tier solutions.

  • Drive implementation of reusable platforms, metadata-driven frameworks, and enterprise integration patterns.

  • Ensure solutions incorporate observability, monitoring, performance optimization, and operational readiness.

  • Lead architecture reviews and solution governance across strategic programs.

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and manage high-performing engineering teams across multiple locations.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

  • Develop succession plans and support career growth for engineering talent.

  • Collaborate effectively with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and external partners.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $202,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
