Job description

Immediate job openings for Full-Time Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP): Bilingual individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Education:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Human Services Field (Counseling, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work)
  • Master's degree in Human Services Field, Counseling or Education

Qualified Mental Health Professional Qualifications:

Candidate should possess at minimum a bachelor's degree in a human services field and at least 1year clinical experience.

Qualified Mental Health Professional Responsibilities:

· Participate in clinical assessments to determine service needs and progress with client’s treatment goals.

· Participates in formulation of the client’s Person-Centered Recovery Plans and assures treatment goals are appropriate for consumers on caseload.

· Provides skills training and psychosocial rehabilitation services that address the severe and persistent mental illness and symptom related problems that interfere with the individual’s functioning.

· Provides interventions in response to crisis to reduce symptoms and avoid admission to psychiatric hospitals.

· Performs case management duties to assist consumers in gaining and coordinating access to necessary care and services based on individual needs.

· Provides training/education on the nature of mental illness the importance of medications, and other medication related information.

· Monitors clients progress or regression with treatment goals.

· Monitors current compliance with eligibility requirements for ongoing treatment (CANS/ANSA, current diagnosis).

· Meets divisional and/or contractual productivity standards as outlined in agencies guidelines and meet contractual guidelines.

· Performs related work as assigned. Adapts to changing work requirements.

· Demonstrates ethical conduct in all clinical and professional activities.

· Complies with agency policies and procedures accrediting/regulatory bodies and performance contract documentation requirements.

· Attends and participates in team meetings with the clinical team.

· Completes specialized training for special populations as required local and state agencies.

Qualified Mental Health Professional Experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Texas ANSA and CANS assessments
  • Knowledge of evidenced-based models and curriculums
  • Knowledge of counseling skills and techniques
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse best practices
  • Effective communication skills, listening, and people skills
  • Written documentation is clear, concise, well-constructed and grammatically correct

Qualified Mental Health Professional Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current automobile insurance
  • Must successfully complete ANSA, CANS, CPR & First Aid, and behavioral management training.
  • Candidate must meet eligibility for employment through successful criminal history and health registry checks.
