Combs Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Bloomington, IN, just south of Indianapolis.
 
Our Veterinary Assistants are valuable members of our medical teams and play a crucial role in patient care and client service. You will work closely with doctors and technicians to increase the efficiency of our hospital as well as the level of care we provide as a team. Combs Veterinary Clinic is a progressive, 3-doctor practice proudly serving Bloomington, Indiana, and the surrounding areas. We are committed to working hard and providing remarkable patient care while having fun doing it; we love to share a good laugh! Our full-service hospital offers a full range of diagnostic tools including ultrasound, laser therapy, stem cell and PRP therapy, acupuncture, digital x-ray, and dental x-ray. We believe in fostering a supportive and positive work environment where every team member feels valued and appreciated.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 
  • Animal handling and restraint 
  • Assist doctors and technicians with medical treatments, diagnostic tests, and procedures 
  • Obtain health history from clients and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical record  
  • Maintain cleanliness of treatment and patient areas 
  • Restock and organize medical supplies 
  • Constantly advance your knowledgebase and skill set 
Skills and Qualifications: 
  • 2 years of professional experience in a veterinary clinical setting (CSR, kennel attendant, vet assistant, other), preferred  
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve  
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks effectively 
  • A team player, have patience and maintain a positive attitude
