Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and caring Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians and technicians in delivering excellent animal care and maintaining a well-organized, efficient clinic environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures.

- Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and setting up equipment.

- Restrain animals safely and compassionately for exams and treatments.

- Administer medications and collect samples under supervision.

- Educate clients on pet care, including post-treatment instructions and preventive health measures.

- Maintain accurate patient records using DaySmart (formerly Vetter) PIMS.

- Order and stock clinic supplies and medications.

- Handle client communications, schedule appointments, and manage reception duties as needed.

- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards throughout the facility.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in animal care is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

- Proficiency with veterinary software and basic computer skills.

- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
