Job description

Spring Valley Veterinary Hospital- East is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
In this role, you will support our Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians during daily surgical procedures by assisting with patient preparation and recovery, maintaining detailed surgical records, and providing clear, compassionate client communication. You will anticipate the needs of your team and work closely to implement the veterinarian's orders while maintaining a smooth workflow to keep surgeries on schedule, while upholding the highest standards of patient care.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong experience in surgery and anesthesia assistance who are looking to fully utilize and expand their skills in a supportive, team environment.
This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 or 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday. No Weekends!!
Full-time benefits and compensation:
  • Compensation: $18-$20/hour, based on experience and skillset
  • Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skillset:
  • 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Anesthesia set up and monitoring experience
    • Dental prophy experience
    • Venipuncture +/- IVC placements, cystocentesis
    • Lab sample processing
    • Client Communication and education
