What is a Vertical Church?

A Vertical Church is a Christian church that emphasizes worship, prayer, and teaching that focuses directly on God rather than primarily on people or programs. The term was popularized by Pastor James MacDonald and signifies a church that seeks to honor and glorify God above all else, with worship that points upward (vertically) rather than just inward or outward. Vertical Churches often prioritize passionate worship, biblical preaching, and a God-centered ministry philosophy. They aim to create an atmosphere where God is central, and people are encouraged to respond to His presence and truth.
