Job description

UPMC Mon Yough Community Services (MYCS) is looking for a Clean Sweep team member to join our team!

In this rewarding role, you'll provide janitorial services across our residential sites and office locations while becoming part of a program that has proudly served MYCS for more than 30 years. You'll work alongside a supportive and mission-driven team dedicated to helping individuals with mental health and/or intellectual disabilities build skills, achieve greater independence, and secure meaningful employment. Your work will play an important role in maintaining safe, welcoming environments that support both staff and the individuals we serve.

Key Information:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday position. Shifts will vary between 8:00a-1:30pm, or 12:30pm-6:30pm, depending on the site.

  • Location: Residential Sites & Office Buildings in the McKeesport area

  • Experience: Must have prior janitorial experience. Must be able to work both independantly & in small crews.

  • Dress Code: Maintain a well-groomed appearance with proper attire (long pants, non-slip closed-toe footwear, no controversial t-shirts, no dangling jewelry, facial piercings, or strong fragrances). Clean Sweep t-shirts will be provided.


Responsibilities:

  • Daily Tasks: Vacuum all carpet areas (offices, conference rooms, hallways, entranceways), including detailing crevices along baseboards, corners, and behind doors. Sweep and mop all tiled areas, detailing baseboards and corners. Clean and disinfect bathrooms. Remove trash and replace liners. Restock supplies. Track inventory. Document time sheets accurately.
  • Weekly/Monthly Tasks: Detail work such as spot cleaning walls, doorknobs, light switches, and air vents.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Inform supervisor of any concerns, needs, or unusual events immediately. Arrive at the job site on time and follow call-off policy. Practice good safety habits and procedures at all times. Establish and maintain courteous relationships with all consumers, customers, co-workers, and other contacts, striving to exceed their expectations. Follow program/agency policies, state regulations, and the agency compliance plan at all times.

  • Adult with past or current connection as a consumer of Mental Health or Intellectual Disabilities Services.
  • Required to be able to lift 20 pounds unassisted and more than 20 pounds assisted.
