Position Summary:

The Route Driver will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex transportation tasks related to the collection and transportation of used oil in support of the Operations Department. The role involves driving a straight truck on a predetermined route, stopping at various customer sites to collect used oil. The driver will also assist in the collection of used oil filters as needed.

Key responsibilities include hauling, loading, and unloading used oil while maintaining accurate records and providing excellent customer service.


Sign On Bonus: $4500.


Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate company trucks for the pickup, delivery, and transportation of used oil.
  • Load and unload used oil from customer and company locations using a straight truck.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, including manifests, bills of lading, and e-logs.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; report any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
  • Ensure proper labeling and marking on customersโ€™ tanks and equipment.
  • Actively seek new customers and assist in route expansion.
  • Perform tank inventory control, including tank measurements and recording data.
  • Adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements set by the company.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry-standard safety, health, and environmental practices, including compliance with DOT rules and regulations.
  • Maintain all required certifications as required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
  • Keep company property clean and in good condition.
  • Perform duties in compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Undergo periodic industrial safety training as mandated by regulatory authorities and the company.
  • Maintain regular communication with the office and supervisor via mobile communication.
  • Cross-train as a filter driver, if required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications:

  • Class B CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements required.
  • Valid DOT medical card and physical form required.
  • Must be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Clearinghouse.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background in commercial driving, with knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • A good driving record is required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents.
  • Ability to complete required DOT paperwork.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
