Responsibilities and Duties

The Housekeeping Supervisorย is responsible for supervising the work activities of a Houseperson, Housekeeper, Room Attendant, and Laundry Attendant. They are also responsible for inspecting hotel guestrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and lobbies to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance are achieved. They will also act in place of the Housekeeping Director in the event they are absent.

  • Participate in morning meetings/huddles to discuss expectations of the housekeeping department and any issues pertaining to the department.
  • Daily property walk to include documented inspection of guest rooms and public areas to be sent to the Housekeeping Director.
  • Responsible for assigning work to cleaning personnel. Responsible for thorough and accurate training of all housekeeping personnel on all required duties to meet brand and company standards.
  • Required to observe the department in reference to policy and procedure adherence. May participate in the employee disciplinary/evaluation process with the Housekeeping Director.
  • Examines carpets, drapes, and furniture for stains, damage, or wear. Checks and counts linens and supplies.
  • Records inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel of inadequacies
  • One-year of previous housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • Previous hotel-related experience desired.
  • Must be available to work long hours, holidays, and weekends.
