Senior Java Developer (SDET –Automation Testing)

Locations (Hybrid):

  • Tampa, FL 33647 (7 openings)
  • Jersey City, NJ 07310 (4 openings)
  • Coppell, TX 75019 (4 openings)

Employment Type: Contract (through the end of the year with strong possibility of extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Senior Java Developers (SDET) with strong automation testing expertise to join a leading enterprise financial services organization. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions that ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate has experience in large enterprise environments, particularly within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) industry, and is passionate about automation, quality engineering, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Java and Selenium.
  • Develop automated functional, regression, integration, and API test suites.
  • Validate business-critical transaction workflows and ensure application quality.
  • Perform API testing using Rest Assured or Karate.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, product owners, and QA teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot test failures and identify root causes.
  • Maintain automation frameworks and improve test coverage.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Ensure software quality, security, and compliance with enterprise standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 4 years of automation testing experience (Senior Associate level) or 8+ years for more senior candidates.
  • Strong Java programming experience.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Selenium
    • TestNG
    • Cucumber
    • Jenkins
    • Bitbucket
    • CloudBees
  • Experience with API testing using Rest Assured or Karate.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and database querying experience.
  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) experience.

OR

Experience working within large enterprise organizations such as Fortune 500 companies or comparable enterprise environments like (AWS, Verizon, Oracle, Meta, etc.).

  • Experience working in onsite/offshore delivery models.
  • Knowledge of modern testing tools and automation best practices.

Technical Assessment

Candidates selected for interview will complete a technical assessment focused on extending automated test coverage for a transaction validation workflow.

The assessment evaluates experience with:

  • Java
  • Selenium
  • Automation Testing
  • Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) practices
  • Test design and quality engineering

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position requiring three days onsite each week.

Candidates must currently reside in one of the following metropolitan areas:

  • Tampa, FL
  • Jersey City, NJ
  • Coppell, TX

Candidates should have prior experience working in an onsite or hybrid office environment.

Engagement Terms

  • Locations: Tampa, FL 33647 • Jersey City, NJ 07310 • Coppell, TX 75019
  • Openings: 15 total (7 Tampa, 4 Jersey City, 4 Coppell)
  • Employment Type: Contract through the end of the year with a strong possibility of extension
  • Work Model: Hybrid (3 onsite days per week)
  • Target Start Date: Approximately two weeks following successful completion of the interview process
  • Compensation:
    • W2: $55–$65/hour
    • C2C: Up to $70/hour (Candidate's own corporation only; third-party C2C arrangements are not accepted.)
  • Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Background Requirements: Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required.
