As we drive transformation across our corporate functions, the opportunity for AI and Data to create value is immense-from optimizing Global Supply Chains to revolutionizing Finance and HR operations. Therefore, it is critical that this candidate possesses previous experience leading large-scale data transformation initiatives and building a culture that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and a strong commitment to creating value for Verizon's stakeholders.
As Associate Director of Corporate Data Engineering, you will be a key leader responsible for driving Data Engineering and Solutions for Verizon's Corporate Data Ecosystem. You will apply hands-on technical expertise to deliver transformative solutions from concept to launch, ensuring outstanding business results across the Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources (HR) domains.
Strategy and Vision
  • Collaborate with business leaders and internal stakeholders to understand objectives and identify high-impact Data & AI use cases.
  • Define Data & AI roadmaps and transformation strategies that align with organizational priorities and long-term value creation.
  • Act as a liaison with Supply Chain, Finance, and HR stakeholders to define and execute a strategy for Business Intelligence (BI) Rationalization.
  • Identify and drive the strategy for implementing new data layers, such as Bronze, Silver, and Gold, and manage the onboarding of their consumers.

Technical Leadership & Architecture
  • Lead and own the Data Architecture and high-level solution design for Corporate Data domains, including Supply Chain, Finance, and HR.
  • Define data standards, functional design, and technical/solution architecture while applying "shift-left" thinking to build a quality-focused data platform.
  • Design and own the "Common Information Model" for Supply Chain, Finance, and HR domains to ensure it serves all business applications and the consumer community.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of AI solutions with existing systems, data pipelines, and operational processes.
  • Synthesize and visualize data to drive actionable insights and enable continuous improvement for reporting, analytics, and data quality.

Delivery & Execution
  • Apply hands-on technical expertise to deliver transformative solutions from concept to launch across Supply Chain, Finance, and HR domains.
  • Contribute to the execution of the agile delivery model, managing the roadmap and backlog processes for data pipeline components.
  • Deliver complex process transformations and system implementations, covering data modeling, UX/UI design, and deployment strategies across the SDLC.
  • Ensure SOX Controls are reviewed and provided within required timelines for data readiness.

What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Five years of progressive, hands-on experience with Data Architecture, Data Modeling, and high-level solution design for large-scale applications.
  • Experience in the successful delivery of scaled agile methodologies and large-scale data transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and architectural concepts effectively to all levels of management.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • A degree.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) level domain knowledge of core Supply Chain functions, including Logistics, Warehouse management, Inventory, Finance and HR.
  • Experience in shaping a data community toward a structured, tiered architecture, such as the Medallion architecture, including framework and design provision.
  • Ability to set rigorous technical and architectural standards.
  • Previous experience leading large-scale data transformation initiatives and building a culture of curiosity and collaboration.
  • Strong commitment to creating value for stakeholders, employees, and customers.
  • Hands-on and pragmatic approach to business processes and user needs with a strong customer focus.
  • Ability to work effectively with shifting priorities and work alignment.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $126,000.00 - $242,000.00.
