Complete Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
NetApp Storage
• Design, implement, and manage storage and server infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain NetApp storage systems and HP servers.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability and security.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support and optimize storage and server services.
• Ensure data integrity and availability through proper configuration and maintenance.
• Participate in infrastructure design and ongoing maintenance.
• Develop and maintain system documentation and diagrams.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other team members.
Veritas NetBackup
• Lead the upgrade process from Veritas NetBackup version 8.3 to version 10.3.
• Ensure minimal downtime and seamless transition during the upgrade process.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure the NBU environment operates smoothly.
• Manage and monitor the day-to-day operations of the NBU environment.
• Perform routine backups, restores, and disaster recovery drills.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through proactive monitoring and management.
• Work closely with other IT teams to ensure cohesive operations and integration of backup solutions.
• Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding NBU and related technologies.
• Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in Veritas NetBackup and related technologies.
• While experience with Veritas InfoScale is not required, awareness of its role in the de-clustering project within the organization is beneficial.
• Assist in other backup and recovery projects as needed.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years' overall customer facing experience ideally providing enterprise-level technical support and advanced troubleshooting methodologies on Veritas NetBackup and Appliances or other BUR tools.
• Extensive experience with Veritas NetBackup, specifically with versions 8.3 and 10.3.
• Proven track record of performing NBU upgrades and managing NBU environments.
• Expert level knowledge in Veritas NetBackup Appliances (ideally Flex Appliances) required.
• Strong understanding of backup and recovery principles, practices, and technologies.
• Scripting knowledge for automating tasks
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• A strongly self-motivated person with the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision is a must.
• Due to frequent customer meetings, technical TOI's, technical and political escalations, etc., exceptional verbal and written communications skills and being well organized are required.
• Exceptional presentation and a proactive customer service mentality is a must.
Preferred Experience not required:
• Experience with Veritas InfoScale is a plus.
• Experience/Knowledge with Veritas NBU Cloudscale is a plus
• Experience with Veritas FlexScale experience highly desired but not required
• Preferred Certifications such as Veritas Certified Professional (VCP), MCSE, VCAP, RHCE, and Any cloud certs ( Azure), etc. are a definite plus.
• Familiarity with cloud-based backup solutions and architectures.
