Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Director Finance Systems, Data Governance & M&A Integration to join our shared services team.
Position Summary
The Senior Director, Finance Systems, Data Governance & M&A Integration is responsible for leading the strategy, governance, optimization, and integration of finance-related systems, data, and processes across the enterprise. This role serves as the bridge between Finance, IT, Operations, and acquired businesses to ensure financial data integrity, scalable systems architecture, process standardization, and successful integration of acquisitions.
This leader will oversee finance technology platforms, master data governance, reporting architecture, and acquisition integration activities while driving operational excellence, automation, and standardization across a rapidly growing organization.
The role will be instrumental in supporting a multi-ERP environment, percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting processes, business intelligence initiatives, and post-acquisition integration programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Finance Systems Leadership
  • Own the Finance Systems roadmap and long-term architecture strategy.
  • Lead administration, optimization, and enhancement of ERP, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analytics platforms.
  • Partner with Finance/Operations/Sales leadership to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a scalable finance technology ecosystem supporting continued growth and acquisitions.
  • Ensure finance systems support compliance with GAAP, internal controls, audit requirements, and management reporting needs.

Data Governance & Master Data Management
  • Lead Enterprise-wide Data Governance Council and develop Finance data governance policies and standards.
  • Own governance frameworks for:

    • Customer master data (in conjunction with Transformation team)
    • Vendor master data (in conjunction with SCM team)
    • Sales master data (in conjunction with Sales/Business Development team)
    • Project/job master data
    • Chart of accounts
    • Cost codes
    • Organizational hierarchies
    • Legal entities

  • Define data ownership, stewardship, approval workflows, and data quality standards.
  • Develop data quality monitoring and remediation processes.
  • Ensure accountability for data ownership, stewardship, data quality, metadata management, and lifecycle governance.
  • Lead initiatives to improve consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of enterprise financial data.
  • Partner with technology teams to align governance with data architecture, privacy and security frameworks.

M&A Integration Leadership
  • Serve as Finance Integration Lead for acquired companies.
  • Develop integration playbooks, timelines, governance structures, and execution plans.
  • Lead finance system integration activities including:

    • ERP migrations
    • Chart of accounts harmonization
    • Customer and vendor master consolidation
    • Reporting alignment
    • Historical data conversion
    • Business intelligence integration

  • Coordinate cross-functional integration efforts with IT, HR, Operations, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, and external consultants.
  • Manage Day 1, Day 90, and long-term integration milestones.
  • Assess acquired company systems and recommend retention, migration, or replacement strategies.

Program & Project Management
  • Establish and lead a Finance Transformation PMO.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects involving systems implementations, process redesign, and integration initiatives.
  • Develop project charters, budgets, timelines, resource plans, and executive reporting.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide regular status updates to executive leadership and sponsors.

Reporting & Analytics
  • Partner with Finance and Operations leadership to establish a single source of truth for enterprise reporting.
  • Support development of data warehouses, reporting layers, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Improve reporting capabilities related to:

    • Revenue
    • Gross margin
    • POC accounting
    • Working capital
    • Backlog
    • Cash flow
    • Acquisition performance

  • Ensure consistent KPI definitions across business units.

Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Ensure appropriate governance and controls over financial systems and data.
  • Maintain documentation of system processes, integrations, workflows, and data governance standards.
  • Ensure segregation of duties and security controls are properly designed and maintained.

Leadership
  • Work through collaboration and engagement with multiple stakeholders in the organization, including

    • Transformation PMO
    • IT Data Management and Development teams
    • Business segment FP&A leads
    • Finance peers across various sub-functions
    • Sales leadership across various segments

  • Develop organizational capabilities in data management, process improvement, and systems governance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance Systems, ERP leadership, data governance, or finance transformation.
  • 5+ years leading large-scale ERP implementations or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating acquired businesses and systems.
  • Strong project and program management experience.
  • Experience operating within a multi-entity and acquisition-driven environment.
  • Deep understanding of finance and accounting processes including:

    • Order-to-Cash
    • Procure-to-Pay
    • Record-to-Report
    • Project Accounting
    • Revenue Recognition
    • Percentage-of-Completion Accounting

  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifcations:
  • Experience in construction, security integration, field services, industrial services, or project-based businesses.
  • Experience with private equity-backed organizations.
  • Experience managing multiple ERP environments and consolidation strategies.
  • CPA, PMP, MBA, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with ERP, EPM, BI, and data warehouse platforms.

The salary range for this position is $160,000-200,000 annually. The starting salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
