POSITION DESCRIPTION

Network Support Technician/Vendor Management


POSITION SUMMARY

The responsibilities of a vendor manager in telecom include 

  • Interacting with vendors concerning any concerns 
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with already approved old and new vendors 
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with existing telecom systems 
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal teams 
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in telecom technology and recommend upgrades where necessary 
  • Prepare technical documentation for telecom systems 
  • Test and validate new telecom equipment and software releases 
  • Provide training and guidance to junior members of the team 
  • Researching new vendors based on price and quality and selecting them based on the vendor management plan 
  • Communicating with the vendors and performing the quality check, dealing with the price and improvements 
  • Establishing standards and analyzing based on them 
  • Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors 
  • Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns 
  • Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality 
  • Resolve vendor-related issues, disputes, and contract discrepancies. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to forecast demand and ensure supply consistency. 

Requirements and Skills 

  • Proven experience as a Vendor Manager or similar role in supply chain management. 
  • Familiarity with market research, data analysis, and forecasting techniques. 
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.  
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset. 
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

•        Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related          field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience.

Experience

•       Minimum of eighteen (18) months of hands-on experience in Network support or IT support capacity.

•       Demonstrated experience supporting Windows-based environments, including Windows 10 and/or Windows 11.

Certifications (Preferred)

•       CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent vendor-neutral credential.

•       Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, or higher-level Microsoft certification.
