Job Description
Contribute as a member of the Hangar Capability Development (CapDev) Team to validate, verify, test and develop requirements for open air range and laboratory systems. Work alongside senior technical staff and our US Government customer to provide expertise on the planning and execution of requirements verification via test. Serve as a lead for requirements verification, working closely with the PM, Technical Lead, other CapDev engineers (SW, HW, RF, ME and Systems engineers) and engineers from vendors. Attend project technical meetings and read technical documentation and other project documents as needed. As part of modernization efforts, design test cases and procedures for commonality across test infrastructure/capabilities allowing for flexibility of configurations without the need to repeat verification testing every time configuration changes. Develop models and guidelines for current and future system development efforts. Bring any potential issues, risks, or areas of concern to the attention of the PM and Technical Lead.
This position is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio and is within a commutable distance from Beavercreek, Fairborn, Dayton, and Riverside.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Review engineering design documents for acceptance criteria and conduct analysis of system level architectures
  • Author technical reports and provide technical recommendations for key DoD Senior Leadership
  • Support technical interchange meetings and provide real time feedback to vendors on requirements verification testing methodologies and philosophies
  • Write and participate in verification, qualification and acceptance tests of large system build efforts
  • Support, maintain and document functionality for future software and firmware updates
  • Support and collaborate with CapDev partners
  • Up to 25% travel required

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience, to include systems engineering, EW Testing, electronic design, software development, system integration, V&V testing, and/or test and failure analysis
  • Proficient technical writing skills to generate technical documents, presentations, and reports
  • Good verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with technical peers and the ability to work as part of a team required
  • Good analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Hands on EW test experience
  • Minimum Secret clearance required to start
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/ enhanced security checks

Preferred Requirements
  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or other related engineering disciplines
  • Familiarity and experience with HALT, HASS, and EMI testing
  • Test experience with standard test equipment such as signal generators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience with DoD sensor and weapon system engineering , development, and requirements verification

May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
