Job description

Position: Vehicle Maintenance Shop Supervisor

Type: Full-time

Location: San Diego, CA

Travel: 10%

**Contingent Upon Award**

Position Summary: The Vehicle Maintenance Shop Supervisor serves as the onsite lead responsible for managing day-to-day maintenance operations for NSW ground vehicles and equipment. This role ensures compliance with preventive maintenance schedules, repair priorities, safety standards, and reporting requirements while maintaining required equipment readiness levels. The Shop Supervisor coordinates directly with Government fleet managers, oversees maintenance personnel workflow, and ensures all work is documented accurately within the Fleet Focus maintenance system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary liaison with Government fleet managers
  • Manage daily shop workflow, maintenance schedules, and backlog
  • Ensure CESE/MHE maintenance cycles are executed every 120 days
  • Oversee quality control and safety compliance
  • Track labor, repairs, and parts usage in Fleet Focus
  • Coordinate vehicle pickup, return, and inspections
  • Support audits, inspections, and readiness reporting
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous material handling procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizen
  • Must hold an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain installation access credentials
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Minimum 5 years as a maintenance Shop Supervisor
  • Experience supporting OEM dealership, commercial fleet, or military intermediate/depot-level maintenance
  • Experience supervising automotive, heavy truck, and CESE maintenance
  • Proficiency using Asset Works Fleet Focus maintenance management software
  • Experience Working knowledge of NAVFAC P-300 / P-480 maintenance standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in Government facilities and controlled areas
  • Compliance with drug-free workforce requirement
  • Ability to work in maintenance shop and motor pool environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
  • Standing, walking, bending, and climbing around equipment
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and outdoor conditions

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
