Title: Automotive Transportation Dispatcher / Vehicle Logistics Coordinator
Pay Rate: $14.00 - $15.50/hr
Employment Type: Contract (W2 through Tekberry)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Overview
Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist to support transportation operations with our client, a leader in the automotive auction and vehicle logistics industry.
This position supports Manheim's transportation operations by coordinating the movement of vehicles between auctions, dealerships, and transport carriers. The role combines dispatching, vendor coordination, customer communication, and operational problem-solving in a high-volume environment. The specialist works directly with carriers and internal teams to ensure vehicles are picked up, delivered, and processed on time while minimizing delays and service disruptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make real-time outbound calls on a recorded line to verify vehicle readiness with pickup locations and transport carriers
  • Coordinate and dispatch vehicle transport between auctions, dealerships, and carriers
  • Negotiate pickup timing and dispatch commitments with carriers and hold vendors accountable to service expectations
  • Follow up daily with carriers regarding ETAs, cancellations, delays, and missed pickups
  • Investigate rejected VIN assignments and coordinate vehicle re-dispatch
  • Monitor transport holds, verification delays, and service interruptions
  • Manage escalated vehicle movement issues with internal teams and partners
  • Enter manual orders and process transportation requests using internal systems (AS400 and AutoIMS)
  • Monitor and correct master data and location record discrepancies
  • Request and process hold harmless agreements and releases
  • Process transportation fees and assessorial charges
  • Manage shared operational email inboxes across multiple locations
  • Create corrective action plans with vendors for service failures
  • Build relationships with Manheim auction personnel and carrier partners
  • Track operational performance metrics including delays, service levels, and carrier performance
  • Compile transportation data and generate operational reports for leadership
  • Support margin awareness by ensuring timely dispatch and preventing service breakdowns
  • Solve operational problems quickly in a high-urgency, time-sensitive environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of administrative, dispatch, call center, logistics, dealership, or transportation coordination experience
  • Strong phone communication skills (frequent outbound calling required)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
  • Automotive dealership, auction, fleet, or transportation experience
  • Dispatching, freight brokerage, tow dispatch, or load coordination experience
  • Vendor or carrier management experience
  • Call center or sales/customer negotiation experience
  • Experience working with carriers or service vendors
  • Some college coursework
Work Environment
This is a high-volume operations role involving:
  • Continuous outbound phone communication
  • Real-time operational problem solving
  • Frequent coordination with carriers and internal teams
  • Time-sensitive vehicle dispatch operations
  • Performance tracking and operational metrics
