Job description

The Farmworker Diversified performs a variety of manual and mechanized tasks involved in the planting,

cultivation, harvest and packing of agricultural crops. This role supports multiple crop types and farming

activities and requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while following food safety,

quality and workplace safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Crop Production & Harvesting

Plant, transplant, thin and weed, crops by hand or using tools

Harvest leafy greens, vegetables, or culinary herbs or other crops by hand or machine according to

quality and food safety standards.

Sort, Grade, and pack produce in the field or packing areas.

Nove pipe into furrows for irrigation

Taking samples of different crops according to quality and food safety standards.

Equipment & Tools

Use hand tolls such as knives, clippers, hoes and shovels safely and properly.

Operate basic farm equipment as assigned (e.g. carts, harvest aids)

Clean, maintain and store tools and equipment following procedures

Field & Farm Maintenance

Perform general farm duties including irrigation set up, removal of debris and field clean-up

Assist with Maintenance of fields, greenhouses, or farm structures as needed.

Safety, Food Safety & Compliance

Follow all food safety, sanitation and hygiene requirements, including proper use of PPE

Comply with safety policies, procedures and training requirements

Report unsafe conditions, injuries or hazards immediately

Teamwork & Communication

Work cooperatively with supervisors and crew members to meet production goals.

Follow verbal and written instructions accurately

Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and respect in the workplace

Additional job duties: Workers may be required also to perform duties such as: Harvest crops by hand and work in the

fields for long periods of time. Workers will work in the packing house packing vegetables.
