Job Description:

Reports to: Supervisor

Purpose of the Position: The Packer 1 is responsible for safely assembling and packing various types of products according to customer specifications while maintaining quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use computerized & electronic system to select, assemble, and package orders accurately, safely and with quality.
  • Apply clips, labels; and insert products into tubes, boxes, and other types of packaging.
  • Train and rotate through all packing areas, Operate various levels of manual packaging equipment.
  • Load specific components in to automated packaging equipment.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions shared with you via Packer IIIs or Supervisors.
  • Maintain expected output levels throughout the shift.
  • Examine and inspect products and packaging materials, possess the ability to identify defective products, notify Packer III of any quality issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Requests are completed with a positive attitude.
  • May be assigned special projects or other duties.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Possess manual dexterity and good coordination.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Possess basic technology skills.
  • Possess ability to resolve minor problems, recognize normal and unusual situations
  • Ability to work with manual and/or power equipment and tools
  • Accuracy and attention to detail required
  • Coachable and ability to apply instruction immediately
  • Maintain a positive attitude and remains flexible to changing demands

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Engage in frequent bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching
  • Prolonged standing or sitting for the duration of the shift
  • Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a non-temperature-controlled facility, enduring warm conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter.
  • Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Education/Experience requirements: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Previous production, assembly or packaging related experience preferred.
