Job description

Our client, a fast-growing AI cybersecurity company building an autonomous, multi-agent platform for security operations, is hiring a full time Platform Engineering Leader. This hands on leadership role owns the AWS and Kubernetes-based infrastructure powering their agentic platform, spanning cloud architecture, reliability, developer experience, security, and compliance. *This role is hybrid 2x a week in downtown Atlanta*
This is a ground-floor opportunity to build the Platform Engineering function from scratch; starting at roughly 60% hands-on engineering and 40% leadership, with the runway to grow the team as the company scales. You'll partner closely with Application Engineering, AI Engineering, Security, and Product teams, and your architecture decisions will directly shape the reliability and scalability of AI infrastructure supporting thousands of security decisions a day. It's a strong fit for a builder who wants ownership over foundational systems and a clear path into broader platform leadership.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, or SRE, including 3+ years of technical leadership
  • Expert-level AWS experience with strong Kubernetes and container orchestration skills
  • Deep Infrastructure as Code expertise, Terraform preferred
  • Proven track record designing and operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms
  • Strong background in CI/CD, observability/monitoring, and modern deployment practices
  • Solid grasp of security best practices and compliance requirements in high-growth SaaS environments
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, LLM, or agent-based platforms
  • Familiarity with vector databases, model serving infrastructure, or agent orchestration frameworks
  • Azure cloud experience
  • Background in cybersecurity or security operations platforms
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Security Specialty
  • Experience with service mesh technologies and advanced networking concepts
  • Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown
  • 50% AWS Cloud Infrastructure & Kubernetes
  • 30% Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD & Observability
  • 20% AI/LLM Infrastructure (model orchestration, vector databases, agent frameworks)
Daily Responsibilities
  • 60% Hands-On Engineering (architecture, IaC, incident response)
  • 25% Leadership & Team Building
  • 15% Cross-Functional Collaboration (Security, AI Engineering, Product)

The Offer

You will receive the following benefits:
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
