Job description

Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure using an incremental, hardware-rich, and low-cost approach. Vast is rapidly developing its multi-module Haven Station to ensure a continuous human presence in space for America and its allies, enabling advanced microgravity research and manufacturing, and unlocking a new space economy for government, corporate, and private customers. Haven Demo's 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Next, Haven-1 is expected to become the world's first commercial space station when it launches in 2027, followed by additional Haven modules. Additionally, the company recently announced Vast Satellite, a high-power satellite product line leveraging its space station components and the heritage of Haven Demo.
Headquartered in Long Beach, California, and with more than 1,000 employees and over a billion dollars in private capital, Vast has built the facilities required to manufacture and operate America's next space station. The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.
Vast is looking for a Technical Recruiter II (Fixed Term), reporting to the Lead Technical Recruiter, to support engineering hiring for the systems required to design and build human-rated space stations and our LOX/kerosene oxidizer-rich staged combustion engine.

You'll partner closely with leaders across Manufacturing for Haven-1, the world's first commercial space station, as well as supporting the development of the E-2 Engine, Vast's LOX/kerosene oxidizer-rich staged combustion engine. You'll own searches across a range of technical skill sets, building strong pipelines, identifying and engaging specialized talent, and guiding candidates and hiring teams through the recruiting process from initial outreach through offer.
This is an in-person role based in Long Beach, CA and runs as a 6 month fixed-term position, with potential to extend.
Responsibilities:
  • Own full-cycle recruiting across high-volume manufacturing technician hiring and Manufacturing Engineering searches, managing multiple openings and skill sets simultaneously
  • Partner with hiring managers and stakeholders to calibrate on role requirements, interview plans, hiring timelines, and recruiting strategy
  • Build and maintain technician pipelines at scale while developing targeted sourcing strategies for specialized Manufacturing Engineering talent
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify, engage, and close highly sought-after passive candidates
  • Manage pipeline volume and conversion, improve hiring velocity, and maintain a high-quality candidate experience throughout periods of significant hiring demand
  • Lead interview debriefs and guide hiring teams through candidate evaluation, decision-making, and closing strategy
  • Track and report recruiting metrics including outreach activity, conversion rates, pipeline health, hiring velocity, and progress against hiring goals; proactively identify risks and adjust recruiting activity accordingly
  • Ensure consistent recruiting processes and documentation within the ATS
  • Represent Vast's mission, hardware, and value proposition to candidates throughout the hiring process

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience
  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing, production, engineering, or other technical hardware organizations

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing multiple searches simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder partnership and communication skills
  • Experience supporting high-volume technician hiring in aerospace, automotive, defense, hardware, or another complex manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to source and engage passive candidates
  • Recruiting experience in Manufacturing including engineers and high volume technicians
  • Experience using Greenhouse ATS or a similar Applicant Tracking System
  • Demonstrated experience operating autonomously and managing competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and process discipline
  • Experience working in high-growth, fast-scaling organizations

Pay Range: California
