Are you passionate about precision, patient care, and making a meaningful impact in oncology? Join our dedicated team at Meritus Medical Center as a Registered Radiation Therapist, where your expertise will directly support life-saving treatments and compassionate care.
What You'll Do
As a vital member of our Cancer Center team, you'll:
  • Coordinate and perform simulations for accurate treatment planning
  • Assist with intracavitary and interstitial implants
  • Verify and document treatment parameters in VARIS and Meditech systems
  • Deliver radiation therapy with precision and adherence to safety regulations
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families, ensuring comfort and understanding
  • Manage billing and charge entries accurately and efficiently

Your Impact
You'll be the hands and heart behind the technology-ensuring every patient receives safe, effective, and empathetic treatment. From simulation to final session, your role is essential to the healing journey.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A.A./A.S. in Radiologic Technology or Radiation Therapy Technology
  • Completion of a 12-month specialized Radiation Therapy program
  • Radiation Therapist ARRT certification OR eligible for ARRT certification within 90 days of hire
  • Maryland Radiation Therapist License
  • Current BLS (CPR) certification
  • One year of experience preferred

Physical & Mental Requirements
This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and close attention to detail. You'll need strong communication skills and the ability to concentrate on complex tasks for extended periods.
Working Conditions
Expect regular exposure to radiation and occasional contact with hazardous materials, blood, and body fluids-all within a highly regulated and safety-conscious environment.
  • Day to Day Job responsibilities: Includes but not limited to daily treatments, documentation, simulation preparation and performance, patient communication, weekly peer to peer/chart review meeting, collaboration with physics/dosimetry/therapy/nursing/front end team, assist with on treatment visits if necessary, and machine warmups.
  • Number of Physicians in Group: 2
  • Support Staff: 6 Radiation Therapists, 1Technical Supervisor, 1 Dosimetrists, 2 Physicists, 2 Nurses, 3 Front End Patient Service, 4 clinical nurse navigators, 1 financial counselor and 2 authorization specialists
  • Work Hours: 40 hrs./week, M-F
  • Treatment Load: 20-30 patients per machine (~50 total per day)
  • Equipment & Planning Software: Varian Truebeam (x2), 1 Siemens GO Open Pro CT Simulator, EPIC Scheduling, Eclipse and MIM
  • EMR System: ARIA
  • Record & Verify: VARIAN/ARIA
  • Education & Certification Requirements: RT(T)(ARRT); Maryland state license
