Location: Minneapolis, MN

Facility: Minneapolis VA Health Care System
Full-Time | Federal Contract Position


Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) to provide diagnostic imaging support services at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The technologist will perform a full range of radiographic procedures in accordance with VA policies, physician orders, and radiation safety standards.

This position supports direct patient care for our nations Veterans in both inpatient and outpatient settings.


Scope of Duties

The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist will:

  • Perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiographic examinations
  • Operate fixed and portable radiographic equipment
  • Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety (ALARA) standards
  • Verify patient identity and physician imaging orders
  • Enter imaging data into the VA electronic health record (EHR) and PACS system
  • Assist radiologists and clinical staff during procedures as required
  • Maintain imaging equipment and report malfunctions
  • Follow infection control and patient privacy (HIPAA) protocols

Hours of Performance

  • Monday through Friday
  • Standard 8-hour shifts
  • Coverage schedule determined by department needs
  • No guaranteed minimum hours unless specified in task order

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R)
  • Active, unrestricted state radiologic technologist license (Minnesota required prior to start)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent clinical diagnostic radiography experience preferred
