Position Overview

The Kitchen and Custodial Staff person supports the smooth operation and billing of the Food Services Department through administrative, custodial, and food service tasks.

Application Category: Staff

Days/Hours: M-F 9:30-2:30 (26 hours); August 1-Friday before Memorial Day.

Job Classification: Hourly

Reports to: Director of Facilities/Food Services Coordinator

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Kitchen Staff Responsibilities

  • Follow health department guidelines.
  • Prepare and serve food as directed by the food services coordinator.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.

Custodial Responsibilities

  • Light duty set up and tear down.
  • Building trash collection as assigned.
  • Light duty cleaning as assigned.

Administrative Responsibilities 1

  • Lead and support the implementation of FACTS lunch
  • Add items and pricing as directed
  • Ensure students have a lunch account and billing is occurring
  • Support food service coordinator in lunch account monitoring as directed
  • Support data entry and management as directed with the lunch account system
  • Support AXCET kitchen staff oversight of time off and overtime as directed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Demonstrate Christ-like character with a willingness to minister the Gospel.
  • Knowledge in planning, preparing, and serving a variety of menus in a Commercial or institutional settings.
  • Must be familiar with health, safety, and sanitation standards applicable to commercial food handling and preparation.
  • Food handling certification is preferred.
  • Degree in food management and/or preparation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Be in good health with no communicable disease, undergoing a yearly physical, kept on file with HR.
  • Ability to run, climb stairs, and respond swiftly during emergencies.
  • Move quickly in various situations.
  • Agility and flexibility for navigating school premises.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, crawl, bend or kneel.
