Job description

Lead Technician
Our client is seeking a dependable and experienced Lead Technician to support low-voltage infrastructure projects in fast-paced commercial environments. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who takes pride in high-quality work, leads by example in the field, and can independently manage installation and troubleshooting activities during overnight project assignments. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across a variety of structured cabling and technology deployment projects.
This role will work an overnight schedule on-site in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Lead Technician Responsibilities

  • Lead and support low-voltage installation projects, including structured cabling, device deployments, and network infrastructure work.
  • Perform Cat5e/Cat6 cable pulls, terminations, labeling, testing, and certification activities.
  • Install and support wireless access points, RFID systems, IoT devices, and related technology hardware.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, cabling, and hardware issues while ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
  • Maintain organized IT racks, cable pathways, and overall cable management standards.
  • Document completed work through detailed notes, testing records, and photo closeout deliverables.
  • Coordinate effectively with project teams, site contacts, and other technicians to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Follow safety standards, installation best practices, and client-specific requirements on all assignments.
  • Support overnight and project-based deployments, with the potential for ongoing work opportunities.


Lead Technician Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on low-voltage or structured cabling experience.
  • Strong experience with Cat5e/Cat6 installations, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead field-based technical projects.
  • Experience supporting wireless access point deployments, IT infrastructure, or IoT-related installations.
  • Familiarity with rack cleanup, cable organization, and industry-standard installation practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in commercial or enterprise environments.
  • Ability to accurately document completed work and provide project closeout materials.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential.
  • Comfortable working overnight schedules and project-based assignments as needed.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
