Job description

Dishwasher

$14-17/hr Employee discount, Health insurance for full and part-time

A dishwasher at Vandelay Hospitality Group is responsible for the cleanliness of dishes and equipment. You will wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. You will also keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the availability of clean dishes by washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware.
  • Prepare kitchen for next shift by cleaning cook stations.
  • Clean machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as pots, and pans, mixers, etc.
  • Assist with unloading and storing deliveries
  • Sweep and mop floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled
  • Take out trash and rinse garbage cans
  • Support other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed
  • Report kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures
  • Close down and ensure cleanliness and care of the dish machine at the end of the night
  • Clean the restaurant before business including dining room floors, patio and bathrooms.
Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in the hospitality industry within back of house restaurant areas
  • Good organizational skills
  • Team work and time management skills
  • Standard knowledge of the main kitchen operating procedures
  • Knowledge of current basic regulations and of the main safety standards
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which included, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.
