This is a full-time maintenance job working 40 hours a week. There is no per diem and no relocation funding.
Valve Technician
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pressure Relief Valve Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, assessment, and repair work on pressure relief valves.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct hands-on maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of pressure relief valves according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Assess the condition of valves, identify issues, and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Ensure that all equipment and tools are properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance.
- Pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, machining, lapping, surface preparation, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves.
- Calibration and testing of valves, related instruments and instrumentation.
- Document repair, testing and assembly activities - cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, etc.
- Set up and take down of required repair equipment in the shop.
- Execute work in adherence to the guidelines stated under a National Board VR/UV program.
- Reference appropriate technical sources.
- Complete site-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Participation and involvement in Safety and Quality programs.

Physical Demands:
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Turning and twisting while lifting or moving
- Navigate/climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding at least 10- 30 feet in the air and sometimes higher
Qualifications Required for this Position:
- Preferred 1-3 years industry related experience and/or training

- Must be able to work off hours, weekends, and OT on a short notice basis based on plant needs
- Knowledge of rigging, lifting and moving heavy and awkward products.
- Able to work in abnormal (hot/cold) operating conditions.
- Must be able operate repair equipment namely; overhead cranes, forklifts, sand blasters, seat facing machines, lift assist devices and power tools.
Education: no minimum education requirements.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
Must pass medical and background check, as condition of employment.
