Job description

RWJBarnabas Health's Northern Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery is looking for their next Heart Transplant & Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center

RWJBarnabas Health, the largest health care provider in NJ, is seeking a highly skilled Heart Transplant & Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join the Heart Failure and Transplant Program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC). This surgeon will provide comprehensive surgical care across the full spectrum of adult cardiothoracic surgery while serving as a key operative leader in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support (MCS).

The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in cardiothoracic surgery with specific expertise in heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices (VAD), and complex cardiac surgery. Clinically, this surgeon will perform heart transplantations, participate in donor procurement, and manage temporary and durable MCS (LVAD/RVAD/ECMO), while supporting system growth by extending advanced cardiac surgical services across RWJBH Northern affiliates.

As the largest integrated health care system in New Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health and the program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center offer competitive compensation and a robust benefits package including health, life, disability, and malpractice insurance, 401k/retirement, plus PTO and added time off for CME. The position is based in highly desirable areas with near top-notch schools, beautiful suburban neighborhoods, and easy access to New York City, Philadelphia, and the Jersey Shore.

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $550,000 - $700,000. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience
