Job description

Job Summary:

The Director of Value-Added Services coordinates the sales and marketing efforts for a specific product group/service through utilization of branch sales teams. This position also maintains close customer/vendor relations with key accounts/sources while investigating new accounts and sourcing opportunities.

Position will require candidate to be on-site full-time with one of our fabrication facilities; Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, Charlotte, North Carolina, or Little Rock, Arkansas.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue and margin growth
  • Identify and pursue new markets, customers, and sourcing opportunities
  • Partner with branch sales teams to expand concentration in target industries
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and strategic partners
  • Conduct regular sales calls with current and prospective accounts
  • Represent the organization at trade shows and industry events
  • Provide technical sales expertise and support during customer meetings and solution development
  • Lead major quotation efforts in collaboration with product specialists
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments
  • Hire, develop, and manage product specialists to support business growth
  • Coach and enable branch sales teams to effectively position value-added solutions
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor market conditions and communicate insights to internal teams, customers, and vendors
  • Use data and customer feedback to refine strategy and improve offerings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5 -8+ years of relevant industry or commercial experience
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and applications
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth and build customer relationships
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Working environment/physical demands:

  • Primarily office-based with regular travel to customer sites and industry events
