Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links was founded in 1926. Hope Valley is an elite private club featuring a classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facility, resort-style pool complex, and a spacious, welcoming clubhouse offering its members first-class recreation, dining, and programming. Hope Valley is ideally situated in the heart of one of Southeast's most vibrant, exciting areas.
Hope Valley Country Club is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support daily operations and help deliver exceptional experience for members and their guests. This role plays a key part in leading front-of-house service teams, maintaining high standards of service, and assisting with club dining, events, and special functions.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily management of all food and beverage operations, including dining outlets, banquets, and special events
  • Lead and supervise front-of-house staff to ensure consistently exceptional service
  • Support hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management of service staff
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor, engaging with members and guests to ensure satisfaction
  • Collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless service execution
  • Assist in planning and executing club events, tournaments, and private functions
  • Monitor service quality, cleanliness, and overall presentation of dining areas
  • Support inventory management, ordering, cost controls, and COGS tracking
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Handle member feedback professionally and resolve service-related concerns promptly

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in food and beverage operations, hospitality management, or private club dining
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong guest-service mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop service teams
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and beverage service
