Description
  • Configuring, securing, and maintaining Windows and Linux test environments in support of NIWC Atlantic projects
  • Assisting in the management of project test beds and network devices, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of local test support infrastructure
  • Developing, updating, and executing system/software test plans, procedures, and test cases aligned with contract requirements, and stakeholder expectations
  • Maintaining and executing test plans and procedures supporting 30day security updates and other required software patches
  • Performing rigorous systemlevel functional, regression, integration, and environmental testing to validate system behavior following updates and configuration changes
  • Reproducing, documenting, and troubleshooting issues encountered during testing
  • Working closely with software developers and systems engineers to diagnose root causes, verify fixes, and support timely resolution
  • Developing and maintaining SMElevel understanding of assigned systems, equipment, and software to support effective test design and execution
  • Supporting application of DoD cybersecurity requirements, including execution of approved vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., SCAP, Nessus, ACAS) and verification of security patching
  • Preparing and maintaining test reports, discrepancy reports, and compliance artifacts required for system accreditation and government review
  • Participating in CM and QA activities in accordance with program and NIWC Atlantic standards
  • Supporting field testing, onsite events, and governmentled training/exercise activities, including occasional CONUS and OCONUS travel, while adhering to all safety, security, and contractual requirements
  • Contributing to continuous process improvement, including enhancements to test methodologies, automation, and metrics

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a regionally accredited institution
  • At least three years of IT professional experience overseeing the creation of hybrid software, web, and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance
  • Direct experience integrating various network operating systems, application programs, and hardware devices through system specification, design, coding, testing, and maintenance support
  • Demonstrated experience in system and/or software verification and validation, including formal test execution, troubleshooting, and maintenance of secure test environments (Windows and Linux)
  • Experience developing and executing system/software test plans, test procedures, and test cases, and producing compliance documentation in accordance with DoD and/or NIWC Atlantic standards
  • Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, including use of vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., SCAP, Nessus, ACAS) and support to patch / 30day security update processes
  • Familiarity with test bed and network device management, including configuration and troubleshooting of Linux and Windowsbased test support systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills-able to clearly report test results and effectively collaborate with engineering, software development, logistics, and program management staff
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn complex systems and become a SME on assigned project equipment and software
Desired Skills
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field
  • More than five years of relevant experience supporting DoD and/or NIWC Atlantic test and evaluation efforts
  • Experience working within Agile/SCRUM development environments, including support to sprint planning, execution, and build/release demonstrations
  • Handson experience with COTS/GOTS test tools and environments, automated regression test frameworks, or Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) activities
  • Knowledge of current DoD information assurance and cybersecurity best practices, including RMF processes and security control validation
