Job description

Join Maine Recycling Corporation (MRC) as we are launching an exciting new Bottle Bill processing facility in Bangor! We are seeking a hands-on, Second-Shift Production Lead to help drive safety, efficiency, and team development in a fast-paced industrial environment.
The Production Manager is responsible for leading employees in assigned production areas to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals. This role plays a key part in developing employees, enforcing policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient daily operations.
 
Job Type:
  • Full-time.

Shift:
  • Monday-Friday.
  • 4:00pm–1:00am (depending on operational needs and volume).

Functions & Responsibilities:
The Production Manager will:
  • Ensure all safety standards are taught, followed, and enforced consistently.
  • Lead and support a team of production employees (bag dumpers, machine operators, forklift operators, etc.) of up to 10 employees.
  • Assign work areas, cross-train employees, and maintain regular communication with staff.
  • Step into operational roles as needed to support production.
  • Communicate issues, concerns, and opportunities to the Operations Manager.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and safety.
  • Track, analyze, and report production and performance metrics.

Job Requirements:
The skills you need to succeed:
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience (industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or warehouse environments preferred).
  • Forklift experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and people-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment.
  • Maintenance experience is a plus.

Pay:
  • $22/hr, starting
