Job description

NEUROLOGIST

VA CONNECTICUT HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

NEWINGTON, CT

The Connecticut VA Healthcare System is recruiting for a full-time General Neurologist to join our dynamic neurology team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a broad range of general neurology cases and have clinical experience and interest in movement disorders. Candidates with skills in performing electromyography (EMGs) and administering botulinum toxin (Botox) injections are preferred but not required.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

The Staff Neurologist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Provide all services required in the practice of Neurology in the context of the VA system and his/her clinical privileges both in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

  • Participate in inpatient on call with section physicians in rotation

  • General neurology experience, experience in the provision of neurological care to both outpatients and inpatients, as well as experience with movement disorder patients is preferred. Proficiency in EMG studies and Botox administration is preferred but not required. Board-certification is preferable, however, board-eligibility in neurology will be accepted.

Position requirements include U.S. Citizenship, M.D or D.O, and a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state, completion of a full program of Neurology Residency. Board-certification is preferable, however, board-eligibility in neurology will be accepted.
